Review
I thought that The Heat was laugh out loud funny. Much like my reviews!!!! :) It stars Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy and is super hilarious. It's the story of an FBI agent and a police officer who are forced to work together to solve a drug crime. Wow! There are a lot of drug related blockbusters out this summer. I just hope McCarthy doesn't bump shoulders with Jason Sudeikis of We're The Millers at the premiere until her post filming cop attitude has warn off.
It is always much more fun to watch a movie with a bunch of people, and the funnest movies to see (Fun fact: As my family will tell you, it's technically most fun) with other people are, you guessed it, comedies. And even better: Action comedies like The Heat. So the point of that long winded spiel is: watch The Heat in theaters or at least with other people. PS: Try not to get the theater that has 5 giggling girls above you who talk through the whole thing (like I got!)
You're going to get Deja Vu when you hear me say it again but The Heat was very funny. It's humor was pretty dirty but (unlike several family members have told me) not shockingly (by today's standards, anyway.) Of course, the real comedy was with Mellisa McCarthy but Bullock surprised me by having quite a few funny scenes too.
Double thumbs up! I'd give this a 4.5 star rating (if I did that on Flixified) and I'd say that this is one of the best films of the summer (however, We're The Millers and Elysium are both gaining fast.)
Summary
The Heat is the story of FBI officer Something Ashbrook (her name is Sarah Ashbrook, I just thought it would be funny if I acted like I didn't know her first name) who is a class 1 officer in NYC. She gets called to Boston to find this drug lord who has been causing the Bureau trouble. She doesn't want to go but does it because she wants a promotion and this is the only way to get it. She is forced to work with foul mouthed Boston police officer Shannon Mullins. Together they form The Heat and go find the drug dealers and bring peace to the galaxy (well, without the galaxy part, anyway!)

The Heat is (as I said above) very dirty. However (also as I said above. Wow, I'm getting Deja Vu again) it's not as dirty as, say Contraband (Okay, I didn't say that earlier, I lied! I said that it wasn't shockingly dirty. Contraband was! Long winded way of saying the same thing.) There is quite a bit of profanity and contextual (is that a word?) profanity.
As far as sex, there is some sexual references through language, comically large breasts, prostitution, and other miscellaneous sexual references (such as one scene where McCarthy asks the whole police office if they've seen the police chief's balls.)
There is also blood, intense scenes, and scenes that will make you rub your leg and go "oh my god, I'm so glad that's not me!" Sandra Bullock cuts open a guy's throat to try to get a piece of pancake out of it, there is a lot of shooting, and the bad guy stabs a knife into Sandra Bullock's leg. Yes, that's the "oh my god, I'm so glad that's not me" scene.
As it is a movie about drug lords, there is also some drug use.
I cannot list all of the scenes with language in them as every scene has language. All scenes have at least some sexual stuff and drug use too. Here are some scenes for people with weak stomach's to go use the restroom (as far as blood and violence.):
