Review

Independence Day is a great movie. I know I'm probably a little late with this review (the movie came out in what, 1996?), but I am making this review for those sad, sad people who put off watching this movie because it looked sooooo old. In other words, people like me!
So, I admit it! I didn't  want to watch Independence Day because it had bad old effects. After all the times I've said that effects aren't everything. Oh wait: I've never said that. So I guess I'm off the hook.
Independence Day is a really awesome movie. Even though it came out on July 3rd, for some reason (Hey Hollywood, I think you need a brush-up course on dates), it truly rocked. If you like sci fi and you don't see Independence Day before you die, you might as well have never been born! In fact, I feel bad for all of those sci fi loving people who died before this movie came out because their lives meant nothing! (Just kidding of course!)
Not only were the effects much better than I thought they would be (yes, I was wrong for once. Seems impossible, doesn't it!), but the storyline was much, much better than I could of/would of hopped for!
So, just a recap: Independence Day MUST GO ON YOUR BUCKET LIST or else you will die in vain!

Summary

Independence Day is a sci fi movie (you don't say??!!) about Captain Steve Hiller (played by Will Smith) who is charged with saving all of mankind (along with his geeky sidekick tv maintenance person (every movie needs one of those)) from an alien invasion.
