Flixified Advent December 11th: 3 Twists on Classic Christmas Movies

3: The Santa Clause

The Santa Clause is a pretty funny movie. It delves into the idea that Santa may not be immortal! Santa has existed for a long time, after all, and Tim Allen's classic-ish Christmas flick explains how a new Santa gets picked after the old one dies (in the movie's case, Santa falls off of the roof.)
It is the story of a divorced dad who gets to take care of his daughter on Christmas Eve. After a failed diner and a trip to Denny's (some nice product placement there!), Allen's character and his daughter somehow (I forget the details) accidentally make Santa Claus fall off the roof. When the dying old man asks Allen's character to sign his name on a Clause, he does. He soon finds that that particular Clause was "The Santa Clause" and he is now forced to bring gifts to all the little boys an girls.

2: The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas seems like an interesting concept. According to John Reeves on IMDb, it is the story of the king of Halloweentown, the scary town that throws huge Halloween parties. His named is Jack Skellington and he has grown bored with constantly celebrating Halloween. So he searches for another holiday. As he is searching, he comes upon Christmastown and at first, doesn't really understand it. However, when he does finally get it, he tries to bring it back and celebrate it with all of the creatures of Halloweentown. However, they can't seem to get it right.
This seems like it would be quite shocking, if not least for the fact that it's a Christmas twist movie that got good ratings! I'll put it somewhere on my watch list!

1: The Santa Incident

When I first saw this n my IMDb search for Santa, I saw that it was a TV Movie and immediately gave up on it. However, as one of my friends, who happened to be passing the computer I was using at the time, told me that it's a surprisingly good movie and I should check it out. So I went back and read the synopsis. Oh boy, I want to see this no matter how dumb or badly done it may be!
