Review

Hotel Transylvania is one of those movies where all of the jokes are listed in the trailer. So, even though I will put the trailer(s) (I don't know why I put the s in parenthesis, I know there are multiple trailers!) in the review, I highly suggest not watching it unless you want the pants bored off you while watching the movie. Wait, there's another "unless": If you don't want to see the movie and you are just so obsessed with me that you want to read anything I write!!!
I usually fall asleep or walk away during kids movies. Ironically, this shows the attention span of a kid, but I just can't stand PG movies. They always just seem soooooooo long!!!!! It's like they never end. So, from me it's high praise for a kid's movie to say I sat through it without walking away, and, even though I thought about it multiple times, I ended up sitting this one out (that doesn't mean what I want it to mean for this particular review, but we can pretend it does!) Okay, maybe a better thing to say is that I sat it through. Which from me, is high praise! Anyway, it held my attention (feel free to quote me on that Disney) enough for me to not fall asleep and chuckle at the jokes!
Looking at Hotel Transylvania from an objective point of view, it was very funny. They did do some slapsticky stuff but, hey, it's an animated movie and monsters can't really die! So if they fall from 500,000 feet or burn themselves up and still survive, I guess it's okay! Whatever makes kids laugh, anyway. I guess their not targeting me with this movie!
So, just a recap: It must have been an extremely good movie because it held my attention and I actually chuckled at some parts. Watch it with your kids, parents!!!!!

Summary

Dracula (played by Adam Sandler) lives with his 117 year old daughter at Hotel Transylvania, the place where monsters can get together without humans trying to kill them (in their own words.) Dracula's daughter is about to turn 118 and he told her that she could go out into the world of humans when she turned that age. He tricks her into thinking that humans are bad when she goes out to visit them, but all of his work is for nothing when he gets an uninvited guest knocking at his door.

Parental Guidance Information

Okay, this movie is rated PG!!! Is that enough information for you? No? Hmmmfff! Well, lets just say that it's extremely appropriate unless you get squeamish about hidden and very subtle adult jokes that will go right over children's heads or, of course, animated bats. You are 155% okay to bring your children to this movie/ buy this movie on DVD (Bringing your children to an out of theaters movie is kind of hard, don't you think? So maybe DVD is a better option.) A few scenes to watch out for are:
