Jack Reacher Film Synopsis, Review, Posters, Trailer, Parental Guidance Information

Review

Jack Reacher reminded me of one long crime show. It could literally have been a longer episode of Blue Bloods or CSI: Miami. Now don't get me wrong, I really liked it, but I'm just saying that I don't think crime dramas are really my thing.
I've never been into crime movies (or crime shows for that matter) in the past. In fact, I only watched Jack Reacher because I was bored. I had just watched District 9 and I was still having that action movie rush you get when you finish watching an action movie (well, at least I get an action rush, but hey, I'm weird and I don't deny it! So I might very well have strange rushes after movies that I can't explain. :))
I personally (yah, I know: you don't give a shit what I thought of the movie, you just care about whether it's a good movie or not) though that Jack Reacher was quite a good episode of The Mentalist disguising itself as a movie. However, I feel really bade for the people who pined away all christmas for this movie to come out and then, on boxing day, felt very flat after seeing it. Not saying it was no good or anything. I'm just saying that, well, never mind!
I also feel bad for the people who made this movie. Even though it was quite good, it came out around the same time as The Hobbit so it lost some of it's fans, I'm sure.
So, if I wrote more, I would just be trying to add space. Wouldn't want to do that! Hah, tricked you, I already was adding space. You just read a whole sentence of nothing. Look, your still reading. How do I know your still reading? Well, you figure it out!

Summary

Jack Reacher is, in my opinion, a crime show posing as a movie. Officially though, it's a movie. It stars Tom Cruise's identical twin broth Bob who is incredibly bad at acting and also very tall as Jack Reacher, the incredibly handsome (to some people. I don't see how women are attracted to him but then again, I' m not a woman) badass (to everyone) ex-soldier who now hides from the government. But he comes back to help a lawyer solve a particularly puzzling murder case.

Parental Guidance Information

Despite some mild language, some sex, and lots of death and violence, this movie is quite appropriate. I would say that most kids over that age of 10 should be able to see it without too much worry on the side of the parents. It has a lot of shooting and quite a bit of violence. There is at least one surprise shooting  and a lot of potentially scary scenes. Here are some scenes to watch out for:
  • Jack in house scene (Get on edge when Jack asks the pot using grandmother if he can go into the house.)
  • Last scene (Parents get on edge when he drives downhill in the car with people shooting at him.)
