Cloud Atlas Film Synopsis, Review, Posters, Parental Guidance Information, Trailer

Review

I thought Cloud Atlas was a good sci fi flick with lots of scene changes, plenty of battle, and some tricky relationships. However, the main reason that I liked it was because it had a deep plot (see summary, DUH).
For some reason unknown to me, I have put off writing this review for some time. I saw Cloud Atlas a week ago (of course, that means nothing to those of you who aren't reading this is the present day. But of course, you are all reading it in the present day, just not my present day. Well, when you read this, it will be the present day for me too, but that's in the future. At least now and I like chocolate cake! ((Just needed to get myself onto a different topic!))) and I loved it. So I have no idea why I  did not want to write a review on it.
There are quite a few things I would love to say about Cloud Atlas. First off, I liked that gay marriage wasn't the whole point of the story. I have always said that, even though there are gay people in lots of modern (and last gen) literature and movies, it's almost more homophobic to have to make the homosexual couple the center of the story. I like that the  gay couple was just a fact of the story and not the whole point of it.
I have now successfully wasted a whole paragraph on only one of the things I'd like to say in this review and I am now en route to waste an entire second one!
This movie is a super great movie. I appreciate the use of one actor to play multiple characters (think Tyler Perry only less slapsticky and funny) and the whole plot of the story is truly awesome! Just be warned: Cloud Atlas is like 10 days long (actually, only 3 hours but same difference).
I think a wrap up is in order (except for the fact that my review only halfway done.): I loved Cloud Atlas and I highly suggest that mentally mature adults and mature teens (yah right, as if they exist) watch this movie.

Summary

Cloud Atlas is the story of multiple lives of the same people. In one life, a reporter is trying to figure out something really complicated, in another, a man is trying to get back to his boyfriend, in a third, there is a sci fi kick ass worthy Asian war going on. There were also more like this fourth: a mysterious woman tries to climb a mountain. But it's a good movie, not like how I just described it.

Parental Guidance Information

I alway dread this section of the review. It is, and I'm not afraid to admit it (why would I be?), the most boring thing to write on Flixified!
In the way of profanity, there is a lot of it. If you watch Cloud Atlas with your kids, you might as well show them Contraband! (I really should do a review on Contraband, I'm always talking about it!) The profanity however is nothing compared to the sex which is in the next paragraph.
As far a s sex goes, DO NOT SHOW YOUR CHILD CLOUD ATLAS!!!! Your kid will be scarred for life! There is a lot of topless women (yay!), tons of sexual scenes, and lots of nudity (with both sexs ((Okay, will somebody tell me how to write that word??!!! Sexs? Sex's? Sexs'? (((Don't actually tell me!)))))).
In the way of violence, there is plenty of death, fist fights, shooting and action, but only occasional spurts of blood (hah, I made a pun) and guts. I would say that, if there wasn't any language or sex, you'd be fine to show this movie to your children. But there is!
