The Starving Games Film Review, Synopsis, Poster, Trailer

PROFANITY: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9   VIOLENCE:1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  SEX: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Review

This is one of those movies that I have a lot to talk about but not a really extreme (good or bad) rating to plaster on it.

I thought (especially in the first 45 minutes) that this movie was hilarious. I guess I mean that it was only funny in the first 45 minutes! I should probably have clarified that, which I did. (My comedy in this review is a train wreck!)
There were occasional funny jokes after the games themselves began, but they were few and far between. Even to the extent that, had you already read The Hunger Games, you wouldn't need to watch past minute 41!
I say that it was funny before the Starving Games began, but most of the jokes were very predictable! For instance, some of the highlights were (spoilers in this next sentence!) the girl who actually gets caught on fire, The Avengers stepping off the plates and getting blown up, Peter "bribing" Kantmiss into having sex with him, and Kantmiss shooting Peter when the announcement comes on that there can only be one victor.
However, there were some original jokes, even though most of them were rather ridiculous. For instance (spoilers in this sentence too!) "Kantmiss, if you don't make it back from the Starving Games, can I eat your pet hamster?"
While I think this review has probably convinced most of you not to watch this movie, I hope that some of you will spend 7 bucks (or get it free with Vudu's HDX free movies collection) to watch this  movie as it definitely was funny!

Summary

In this parody of The Hunger Games (you don't say?!), Kantmiss Evershot and Peter Malarky volunteer for the 75th annual Starving Games, a brutal fight to the death on tv. In The Starving Games, they must work together to make it out alive. Sound familiar? Even though sometimes stupid, this movie is the perfect movie to watch if you can find nothing else!
